The TNAF Avarice 004-200 was the flagship of the Avarice destroyer class of vessels belonging to the First Fleet of Oporto Arawica of the Federation of Tugal. Because she served in the First Fleet, the Avarice was used in operations in the western half of the Arawdielli Sea. The Avarice was stationed at Gordion Naval Installation in Gordion, the capital of the Gordion Colonial Zone, and saw action in small skirmishes between Tugal and Altadenican privateers before being chosen by Commander Parker Lloyesia to face the Gobalese Serpentine Blockade in a series of confrontations during the Valentine War. Between her completion and her destruction, her captain was Timothias Daemond.
During battle, the Gobalese GSC Defender of Life dealt significant damage to one of the Avarice's engines, slowing down the Avarice to a less-than-battle-ready pace. Because the ship was never given the opportunity to stop and make repairs (the entrance of the ACRAG Yimata into the battle forced the Tugali vessels to move), the vessel could not escape the movement of the Yimata after the bow section of the Yimata was destroyed. The detached bow rammed the ship, splitting it in half and sinking it into the Moyen Serpent. However, all crew survived and managed to escape.
The Avarice was named for Fortaleza Avarice, one of many fortalezas founded during the first wave of Tugali colonialism during the Median Era.
