Nouvelle-Simbopolié (NOH-vehl sim-boh-poh-LEE), formerly referred to as Nueva Simbopolis, is a city that constitutes the eighth región of the Daishun Republic. It was formerly a colony of Royal Tugal established on continent Selatan. The colony was founded by colonists directly dispatched by doge Aguas III to counter both the growth of Shecaguan settlements on the Milwaukee and Indianapolis Islands and as leverage against the burgeoning Daishun Republic in the case of war against either.

The colony's initial settlers were dwarfed by Daishunese French-speakers in search of fertile farmland. Japanese and Chinese Daishunese citizens soon moved into the region. To reinforce Tugali control, Aguas III made a basic knowledge of the Unidante language mandatory to all residents of Nueva Simbopolis. Despite this, nearly 70% of the Desimbopolié population was Daishun-born by January 2010.

The outbreak of influenza on the continent hit settlers especially hard; the city practically shut down under the pressure. Tugal abandoned the colonists to focus on their own woes during the Valentine War, having lost easy access to large quantities of food after Ciudad Espera was captured by Altadenica. In search of protection and aid, Nueva Simbopolis turned to the Daishun Republic for support. The Daishun Republic followed through, and its success in caring for the ailing city swayed the support of most of the native Tugali population in favor of the Daishun Republic and against the neglectful Tugali Empire.

Tired of Tugal's inaction and with great admiration of the Daishun Republic, the November 23 "A Revolução pelo Comúm Bem" erupted. Manolo da Cavalo overthrew the Royal Tugali regent, Guillermo Eridéso, and petitioned the Daishun Republic for annexation. The Daishun Republic agreed, making the newly renamed "Nouvelle-Simbopolié" their eighth province.
