The Most Divine Priesthood of the most Benevolent Ashura and Chana and their Brethren, known collaquially as Ashura-Chana (pronounced ah-SHOO-rah TCHA-nah), was a collection of several hundred independent states united by Ashurism, the state religion of the nation as a whole. It encompassed large tracts of continent Bianco and small colonies on the southern shores of continent Selatan. The holiest city of the Ashura-Chani lands, Ashuria, houses the holiest oracle, who is at present Djishura D'chmana; D'chmana was effectively the head of the Ashura-Chani nation, although the de jure capital became Gamshin after the Treaty of Cicero formed the Protectorate of Halia Valley. The nation was conquered by a Silvermoon-Turnipion Union alliance in the Transgamayan Blitz, and it was officially dissolved in the Treaty of Silver City. Although populous, only two cities were significant enough to have any real political effect. Ashura-Chana was a computer nation.

Although records indicate that Ashuria and Blanciona were the original homes of the Ashurian and Chani people (respectively), they have historically colonized large tracts of land, as the little arable land present in most regions of the snowy continent Bianco forced cities to take measures against overpopulation. The two existed nearby each other separate until Ashurian oracle Djimana D'ashuria ordered the conversion of the Chani people to Ashurian beliefs. To go about this, the integration of Ashura and Chana began with the integration of each peoples' pantheons; Chani gods became Ashurian deities and likewise. Intermarriage, supported by the Ashurian high oracle and the Chani chancelloric oracle, consolidated the two people groups under the two spiritual leaders.

Eventually, D'ashuria attempted to make a play to overthrow chancelloric oracle !Xoqlt Myrine in the city of Blanciona and succeeded, releasing huge amounts of propaganda to the general public to quell any possible resistors, although the state of Noblankia was destroyed and its population massacred in последователност работа because they threatened Ashuria with releasing the truth to the public unless D'ashuria stepped down. D'ashuria used the hype generated by propaganda against Myrine and Noblankia State to militarize the nation. Given their supremacy over the inhabited portions of Bianco, D'ashuria ordered that, by decree of the gods, a navy must be built for defense purposes. For the next fifty-two years, a limited form of tax farming was implemented and raids using the existing navy were made on surrounding nations, tribes, and nomadic peoples fueled the construction of a navy that, at the time, rivaled the size of the American navy. The death of D'ashuria brought his successor, D'mytilene Qshuria, to power, whose attempts to suppress a group of non-Ashurian religious tribesmen north of the city of Gamshin on the Gamayan River failed after mismanaging Alma Aeruma's Transgamayan Campaign, which cost the nation nearly two thirds of its navy of 300 warships. Blaming the loss on Aeruma, Qshuria exiled him to the tribesmen; Aeruma would take himself and his tribesmen north to Mun Lindore to found the Despotate of Silvermoon. Qshuria was assassinated by aides led by Shalma Ompia after one year of rule and replaced with Djishura D'chmana, the current leader of the nation.

D'chmana recently issued the Decree Antichekak, which stated that the gods had decided that the nonbelievers in the Centralized Republic of Shecagua were untameable heathens who had to be suppressed, slaughtered, and destroyed for the sake of natural balance. The decree was rescinded after the resulting war ended disastrously; as a result, the Ashura-Chani holy city of Ashuria and large swaths of land on the coastline and on the Halia River valley were ceded to the Shecaguans on February 7, 2010.

Disappointed with D'chmana Iccinon's failure in the Dearborn War, Iccinon was expelled from the nation and barred re-entry. Iccinon joined the First Fleet of Oporto Arawica. A spiteful Holiest Oracle issued Decree Aportigobae and dispatched several bastion battleships to reinforce Goba's Serpentine Blockade in the Valentine War. All ships were sunk. Ashura-Chana, however, remained officially neutral. The Vitallans and their allies were not in a place to declare war and bring another enemy into the mix.

Conspiring to seize Bianco, the Turnipion Union and Silvermoon allied and charged Ashura-Chana. In a remarkably short period of time in the Transgamayan Blitz, the entire Gamayan River Valley and the city Blanciona had fallen to the crushing military force. Ashura-Chana was officially dissolved when the Holiest Oracle signed the Treaty of Silver City. Shortly afterwards, the Turnipion Union turned on Silvermoon, allied with Tabatinia, and re-overran the former Ashura-Chana in the Second Transgamayan Blitz. In the Continental Exchange Agreement, Tabatinia acquired the nation and began severely persecuting its inhabitants.

The Ashura-Chani military was a highly disciplined force headquartered in the Gamayan Citadel at the center of the city of Gamshin. Divided into the Royal Ashuric Navy and the Local Ashuric Guard, who respectively command the nation's naval operations and local police matters, its military was the most powerful and most zealous on the planet. Its soldiers followed a code as devoted as the samurai seppuku ideal, and guerrilla forces continue to uphold that code.

There were over one hundred warships in commission and one hundred highly armored vehicles (HAV tanks) in service. Ashura-Chani strategists did not permit their HAV tanks to leave Ashura-Chani borders by decree of the holiest oracle. The details of this decree were not disclosed to the public, and all HAV tanks were destroyed when news of Aerumaen invasion came. Most of Ashura-Chana's warships were scuttled when Silvermoon and the Turnipion Union invaded and defeat seemed imminent.
